How to replace gaming chair armrests

Total time: 10–20 minutes. Tools required: standard Allen key (typically 4–6 mm).

  1. Flip the seat upside down or tilt the chair to access the bolts underneath.
  2. Remove the 4 bolts on each side using an Allen key. Keep the bolts — you may reuse them.
  3. Lift off the old armrest bracket from the seat frame.
  4. Position the new armrest bracket and align the bolt holes.
  5. Tighten the bolts and repeat on the other side.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know which armrests fit my gaming chair?+
Our armrests fit chairs with the standard 4-bolt side bracket pattern — approximately 95% of all gaming chairs. Check for four bolt holes on each side of the seat. Compatible with DXRacer, Noblechairs, Secretlab, AKRacing and most other brands.
What is the difference between 2D, 4D and 5D armrests?+
The number indicates how many directions the armrest adjusts. 2D: height and side-to-side. 4D: adds depth and pivot angle, with magnetic lock. 5D: adds a fifth fine-adjustment axis. For most users, 4D is the best balance of function and price.
My gaming chair armrest is cracked — can I repair it?+
Cracked armrest plastic or a broken bracket mechanism cannot be repaired reliably. Replacement is the right fix. A new 2D set costs €29 — far less than a new chair.
Do I need special tools to replace armrests?+
You need a standard Allen key (hex key), typically 4–6 mm. It is usually included or available from any hardware store.
Can I upgrade from 2D to 4D armrests on my existing chair?+
Yes — as long as your seat has the standard 4-bolt pattern, you can upgrade to any of our armrest sets regardless of what came with your chair originally.
How long does it take to replace gaming chair armrests?+
10–20 minutes total. The process is identical for both armrests: remove the 4 bolts on each side with an Allen key, lift off the old bracket, position the new one and tighten the bolts.
