Fix a sinking or stuck gaming chair in under 10 minutes. BIFMA-certified gas lifts in Class 3, Class 4 and Heavy Duty. Universal fit for ~95% of gaming and office chairs. No tools required.
A sinking gaming chair is almost always caused by a worn-out gas lift (also called a gas cylinder or pneumatic cylinder). The internal nitrogen charge has leaked, so the chair can no longer hold its height. The fix is simple: replace the gas lift. Class 4 (€24.90) fits ~95% of modern gaming chairs. Class 3 (€19.90) fits older or lighter chairs. Heavy Duty (€29.90) is for users over 100 kg or intensive daily use. Installation takes under 10 minutes — no tools needed. Lift the seat straight up off the gas lift cylinder. It is not bolted — it sits on a tapered cone and releases with a firm upward pull.
Flip the base upside down. Tap the old cylinder out of the base with a rubber mallet or by hand. It slides out of the tapered socket.
Insert the new gas lift into the base socket. It should slide in firmly. No tools or fasteners needed — it is held by the taper fit.
Place the seat back on top of the gas lift. Sit down to lock it in place under your weight. The chair is now ready to use.
A new gaming chair costs €150–500+. A replacement gas lift costs €19.90–29.90. The repair pays for itself immediately.
Gas lift replacement is the easiest chair repair. No tools, no technical skills, no disassembly of the seat or mechanism.
A sinking gas lift is the only problem. The rest of your chair — frame, foam, fabric — is still in perfect condition.
Our gas lifts meet the same international standard as the originals — often with a longer warranty than the chair came with.
The most common sign is a sinking chair — you sit down and the chair slowly or immediately drops to its lowest position. Other signs include a stuck chair that won't adjust height, a wobbly cylinder, or a clicking/hissing sound when adjusting. In 90% of sinking chair cases, a gas lift replacement fixes the problem completely.
Class 4 is the modern standard with a higher pressure rating and longer stroke (100–130mm). It fits approximately 95% of gaming chairs made after 2015. Class 3 has a shorter stroke (80–100mm) and is found in older or lighter chairs. If you are unsure, Class 4 is the right choice for most gaming chairs.
Our gas lifts are designed for ~95% compatibility with gaming and office chairs. They use the standard 50mm diameter cylinder that fits most chair bases and seat plates. The Class 4 fits the vast majority of modern gaming chairs. If your chair is older or unusually heavy-duty, the Class 3 or Heavy Duty Class 4 may be more appropriate.
Gas lift replacement takes 5–10 minutes and requires no tools. Step 1: Remove the seat by pulling it straight up. Step 2: Flip the base and tap out the old cylinder. Step 3: Insert the new gas lift into the base. Step 4: Place the seat back on top and sit down to lock it. See our full guide: How to replace a gaming chair gas lift →
Our gaming chair gas lift replacements start at €19.90 for Class 3, €24.90 for Class 4 (most popular), and €29.90 for Heavy Duty Class 4. All include EU shipping within 2–5 days. Compared to buying a new gaming chair (€150–500+), replacing the gas lift is by far the most cost-effective repair.
The Heavy Duty Class 4 gas lift is designed for users over 100 kg or chairs used in intensive daily environments (offices, gaming cafés). It has a reinforced cylinder with a higher load rating of up to 150 kg. For most home users under 100 kg, the standard Class 4 is sufficient.
